Mission & Goals

At St. Mark's We Strive To Be:

Open:

* We try to live by the message of Chirst, in which there are no outcasts and all are welcome.

* We believe we are free to use our God given powers to think for ourselves.

* We find more grace in the search for understanding God’s will than we do in dogmatic certainty.

Non-Judgmental:

* We leave judgment to God.

* We do not judge other faith traditions.

Socially Responsible:

* We try to live by Christ's command to "clothe the naked, feed the hungry,  and visit the lonely, sick, and those in prison."

* We recognize that how we behave toward others is the best measure of our Christian faith.

What We At St. Mark's Believe…

• There is One God who creates all things, redeems us from sin

and death, and renews us as the Children of God.

As Episcopalians we promise to follow Jesus Christ as our

Savior and Lord.  We believe the mission of our church is

restoration of all people to unity with

God and each other in Christ.

• The Bible is at the core of our beliefs.

Our understanding of the Bible, however, is not fixed.

Each generation must interpret it through the science,

historical data and use of reason that God has given us.

• We are a community of faith, where each person’s spiritual

journey is unique and personal.  Our goal is to promote

thoughtful dialogue about what God is calling us to do and be.
